Art for Uncertain Times
We find ourselves in the uncharted, dark waters of a global health pandemic due to coronavirus, COVID-19; and fighting the long-embattled pandemic of racism, particularly after the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. 2020 is a year for our utmost humility and humanity.
The Center for Latter-day Saint Arts feels strongly about supporting its global community of artists and supporters in this moment. Fifty (50) grants of $250 each has been awarded to scholars, visual artists, writers, composers, designers, choreographers, filmmakers, and other creative artists for works that will be distributed digitally via our website and/or social media platforms in the upcoming weeks and months.
The Call for Proposals (here) resulted in 134 spectacular applicants from all over the globe.
