Reaching for Excellence

Stained glass
Made possible by a grant from the Center for Latter-day Saint Arts, Art for Uncertain Times.
The Here and Now is a volatile place…
The earth doesn’t seem stable and the air holds toxic viruses. For now, this is our world. In the midst of all this I choose the energy of hope. I breathe the scent of spring and I continue to create, learn, work and teach. Being excellent is my goal and this window is my muse.
Excellence is doing our best when things are hard. Lifting others while standing on our own two feet. Reaching for abundance even when the world is uncertain. Seeing changes as transformations.
Finding beauty and adventure in challenges.
Being the Hero and Heroine of our own world.
Believing that God is in us and we are more than capable of excellence. —Jeanne Gomm, 2020
Jeanne Gomm
is an award-winning, Latter-day Saint stained glass artist. She has been creating glass art since 1983, with windows installed in public buildings and private residences in the Utah County area, including the Covey Center for the Arts, the St. Francis of Assisi Church (Orem, UT), and Smith’s Marketplace (Springville, UT). Gomm is particularly inspired by the spiritual nature of stained glass and how it welcomes light and color into our physical spaces, and our souls.
A teacher and artist, many of Gomm’s students have gone on to build windows of distinction in their own right.
