Beloved Daughter

By Stephen Anderson

A few months ago, I was approached by a counselor in our ward young women's presidency, and she asked me if I could compose a song that would help the girls more easily memorize the Young Women's Theme that they often recite together in their Sunday meetings. I had a little break between projects at work, and I composed Beloved Daughter, which sets the theme with little variation from beginning to end so that the girls could sing the words straight through as they would in their church meetings. A talented vocalist in our ward, Kristin Perez, and I then created this demo recording where Kristin multi-tracked the soprano and alto parts so that the girls could more easily hear and learn their parts.

Beloved Daughter, a setting of the Young Women's Theme of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, for soprano and alto voices, is available for free download on the composer’s website.
