Filling My Soul

by Toria Trendler

The exhibit is something I never knew that I had always wanted until there it was, filling my soul. At every turn I felt seen on a deep and important level.

I have always known in a logical way that my religious experience deeply impacted my world view, but bringing such a wide array of art together in one space helped me feel the weight of that impact. It was both validating and inspiring, giving me the permission and the context to keep digging deeper, with the assurance that there really is something there to explore.

Going back to the exhibit with family members and friends was the icing on the cake. We were able to share something meaningful in our lives, something we had always shared but had never been able to acknowledge that we shared it.
