While receiving her PhD in European History from the University of Utah as an expert on Victorian Ritualism and Art, Rita R. Wright, taught at BYU and worked at the BYU Museum of Art. Following an 8-year position there, she became the director of the Springville Museum of Art, which she led for a decade.
